At the beginning of April, Innovate Logistics reached Practical Completion on a 12,821m² extension to its Bardon warehouse.
The warehouse, which was acquired by Innovate in the summer of 2007 from nestle UK as part of the deal that saw Innovate replace TDG as Nestlé’s service provider at the ambient site, will have a capacity of 105,000 pallets once the new extension has been racked.
The warehouse extension includes an increase in the number of bay doors by 15 and whilst the development work was undertaken an additional 90 HGV parking spaces were created. This, combined with improvement in vehicle access, means that the site now has a vehicle capacity in excess of 250 at any one time.
Managing Director of Innovate’s Chill and Ambient Division, Tim Bolam commented;
“The extension has been designed with maximum flexibility in mind and could be run at temperature regimes from -2°c to +18°c. The other changes to the site, including a new office block and two storey exit/entry security office, mean that the whole site is geared to handle the increased volumes that the extension will generate”
Commercial Director John Stitchman added;
“The Bardon facility is central to Innovate’s future development plans and together with new sites at Cabot Park (Bristol) and Hoddesden that are due to come on stream later in 2008 we have a very strong platform for growth”
