Innovate Logistics, one of the UK’s leading temperature controlled storage and distribution providers, has taken first delivery of 150 brand new Volvo FH 6x2 13 litre trucks.
The decision to expand the fleet mirrors Innovate’s growth strategy over the past year which included two highly successful business acquisitions – Phil Hanley Ltd and Grampian Country Transport.
The trucks are fully equipped with driver safety and the environment in mind. All Globetrotter Classic models are fitted with the latest in cab technology including digital tachographs and the Dynafleet system. These will integrate into Innovate’s transport systems allowing traffic operators to monitor the location of vehicles, fuel consumption, driver times and planned routes – all increasing Innovate’s ability to provide a seamless and highly efficient supply chain.
Each truck has been fully liveried in Innovate’s distinctive orange and blue branding. All will be personalised after staff family members: the first three being Charlotte Amanda, the daughter of managing director Pete Osborne; Freya, the daughter of Innovate Holdings managing director Stephen Dargavel, and Harry, after marketing and PR manager Marie Houlton’s father.
Pete explains: “With our growth strategy on track this fleet expansion is part of our relentless effort to provide the best service in the industry to our customers. The trucks needed to be fuel efficient, reliable and accepted by our drivers while at the same time meet the stringent requirements of our fleet compliance and driver training departments. I’m confident we’ve succeeded.”
